How does Enlighten 3 laser tattoo removal work?
During the treatment, laser energy is delivered to the tattoo using ultra-short nanosecond or picosecond pulses. Previous tattoo removal systems had a single coloured laser light which only treated darker tattoos. Enlighten 3 is equipped with three wavelengths that are selected to remove all ink colours, including challenging blue and green.
Is the procedure painful?
Patients compare the procedure to a rubber band being snapped against their skin. To minimise discomfort and improve your experience, a topical or local anaesthetic is available. We recommend taking Paracetamol 30 minutes prior your treatment.
Are there any side effects following the treatment?
Most patients experience redness and swelling immediately following the treatment. In some cases, a blister may surface on the treated area, however with proper care of the treatment area, the side effects are temporary.
Is there any downtime after the procedure?
Most patients can return to regular activities immediately following the treatment. We will advise you on post treatment care to ensure a fast healing of the treated area.
